Born in 1894 in the english city of Barbour, the brand has grown through 5 generations of activity. The brand has remained loyal to its origin and has never left north England. The Barbour waxed jacket, the brand's icon, is still being hand made in the Simnside Soouth Shields factory. Since its birth, BARBOUR has been able to reconcile tradition and innovation, expanding its activity to urban clothing. More lively colors and lighter garments have been incorporated in the summer collection, although fit and comfort are still the brand's predominant traits. Aspect of the maritime, military, and horse-riding world are inspirational of the Barbour style.
